History of Yalova
From Phrygians to Bithynians, from Seljuks to Byzantians, many civilizations have lived in Yalova which is finally conquered by Ottoman Commander Gazi Abdurrahman and become a Turkish city.
Based on the request of Atatürk legislative act taken on 2 June 1929, Yalova had become a district of İstanbul. The great founder of Republic of Turkey, M.Kemal Atatürk, had firstly visited Yalova on 19 August 1929 and at the time of National Park construction, he made the workers move the chalet instead of cutting a tree's branches, thus the name 'Walking Chalet' has occurred. He has cited Yalova as 'Preliminary to Revolution' and 'My City', and Yalova has almost become the summer capital of the country. In 1995 Yalova had become a city, seperated from İstanbul.
It has become very convenient and easy to arrive Yalova by both regular-timed ferries and seabuses. |
